They boarded a chartered emergency response flight, knowing they weren’t heading into just another search mission—they were heading into the unknown.

On July 28th, reports came in of three missing children last seen near the edge of a rapidly advancing fire line. With the heat rising and visibility near zero, Joseph and Officer Lopes were dispatched alongside two local units.
