What began as a routine day at a local animal shelter turned into an emotional rollercoaster that no one saw coming — and it all started with a single tearful bark from a German Shepherd puppy.
Staff at the Lakeside Animal Rescue Center in Austin were introducing adoptable dogs to visitors when a young woman named Emily Foster walked through the doors. She had come to the shelter searching for a companion after recently losing her family’s longtime dog. But what she found instead was something no one could explain.
