People thought it was just lost…
But when rescuers finally followed him — what they found left everyone in silent shock:
A baby elephant trapped in an old hunting pit, barely clinging to life.

It started during a scorching summer week in southern Georgia, USA. Local villagers reported seeing a skinny yellow dog barking toward the forest every morning, circling the same area and refusing to leave.

At first, most people ignored it.
But one volunteer rescuer, James, age 36, felt something was off. So he decided to follow the dog.

He ventured into the woods, navigating thorny brush and dry branches. The dog — a golden retriever mix around 5 years old, malnourished and matted — kept stopping, glancing back at James with pleading eyes before continuing.

Eventually, they reached a steep slope. What James saw made his heart stop.
