A Scene Turned Tragic
According to eyewitnesses on the film set, the crew was in the middle of filming an intense high-speed chase — the climax of the film — when disaster struck. Cuthbert, known for doing many of her own stunts, was in the passenger seat of a modified off-road jeep meant to swerve along a steep canyon edge.

Rescue teams arrived within 20 minutes and attempted to extract both the actress and the stunt driver from the wreckage. The driver, whose name has not yet been released, survived with serious injuries and was airlifted to a nearby hospital. Tragically, Elisha Cuthbert was pronounced dead at the scene due to massive internal trauma.
