Washington, D.C. – In a series of explosive and dramatic statements, President Donald Trump revived the controversial allegation that former President Barack Obama tried to “orchestrate a coup” against him after the 2016 election — and declared, coolly, “Those people are going to pay.”

He then shared a video from The Daily Signal in which conservative historian Victor Davis Hanson accused Obama-era intelligence chiefs of trying to “destroy” Trump after his 2016 victory over Hillary Clinton.
“They must pay for the crime of the century,” Trump declared.

The latest attacks were sparked by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who recently accused Obama and national security officials of orchestrating a “treasonous plot” to justify the story of Russian election interference.
According to Gabbard, this is not just a routine investigation, but a “multi-year coup” aimed at undermining Trump’s legitimacy from the beginning of his term.
The Obama side strongly rebutted, asserting that there was no evidence that would change the widely accepted conclusion: Russia sought to influence the 2016 election but did not change the outcome of the vote.
